Generic vs. Brand Name

Generic and brand-name drugs are covered under both the mail order and retail pharmacy programs unless they fall under Drugs and Supplies Not Covered. However, if a physician  prescribes a brand-name drugs when a generic equivalient is available, you must pay the difference in cost.

(Insulin is covered as a generic drug under prescription drug benefits.)
