Coverage begins when you have met the applicable waiting period unless you have a break in service. If you are not actively at work on the day you complete the waiting period, your coverage under the Health, Dental, and Vision Care plans begins on the day you return to work. This exception does not apply if the reason you are not at work is due to a medical condition. Also, your dependent's coverage cannot begin before your coverage begins.
If you incur a break in service of any number of days before you satisfy the waiting period, you will need to satisfy a new waiting period before coverage takes effect. If you’ve already satisfied the waiting period and you incur a break in service of more than 28 days, you will need to satisfy a new waiting period.
