Dental Insurance
The RF provides a dental plan through Delta Dental for you and your eligible dependents that covers preventive services (exams, cleanings, X-rays), basic services (fillings, oral surgery, gum treatment), major services (crowns, dentures, bridges) and orthodontics for children (under age 19).
Covered dependents include a spouse, domestic partner, or child up to the age of 26.
The RF pays 90 percent of the cost for individual coverage and 75 percent of the cost of dependent coverage. You pay the balance through biweekly payroll deductions.
If you work at least 50 percent of full-time you are eligible to enroll in the Dental plan.
The waiting period differs depending on the type of dental services, and begins on your date of hire or the eligibility date. Following are waiting periods for different types of service:
- Preventive – 6 months
- Basic, orthodontic – 6 months
- Major – 12 months
